McCorkell Construction – D&C
Current was engaged to deliver a comprehensive electrical package for this multifaceted project, showcasing the team’s expertise in integrating modern technology with complex construction requirements. The scope of works included the installation of 240V lighting and power systems, a robust communications network, specialised lighting control systems, state-of-the-art audiovisual (AV) solutions, dry fire protection, and an Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS). Additionally, Current provided advanced access control, security, and intercom systems to enhance functionality and safety across the site.
The project was divided into three distinct sections, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities. The first involved the careful refurbishment of the historic Heritage House, requiring a delicate balance between preserving its architectural integrity and incorporating modern electrical solutions. The second stage focused on the demolition and refurbishment of the North Building, which was transformed to meet contemporary standards while retaining its connection to the surrounding structures.
The third and most ambitious phase was the new construction of a five-storey community hub. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to house a variety of community services, providing a dynamic and versatile space to support diverse community needs.
Throughout the project, Current worked collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of systems across all areas. The team’s attention to detail, combined with their commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, played a crucial role in the successful completion of this innovative development.
